Frax Laser
Advanced Technology for Radiant Skin
What is facial rejuvenation with Frax Laser?
Techniques like FRAX laser skin rejuvenation are also known as photo rejuvenation, it is a non-invasive aesthetic medicine technique that uses advanced laser technology. We use the Frax Laser from the Nordlys™ system—to improve the skin’s texture and pigmentation.
The fractional Frax laser emits pulses of light that target two natural substances in the body:
- Melanin: present in age spots and pigmentation
- Hemoglobin: present in red coloured lesions
This treatment visibly improves the skin by stimulating collagen production and progressively smoothing the complexion. It also reduces wrinkles, pigmentation, and enlarged pores, providing deep skin renewal—without surgery.

Benefits of Frax Laser for facial rejuvenation
Frax Laser significantly improves the skin by:
- Reducing age spots and uneven pigmentation
- Improving skin texture, resulting in a smoother, more radiant complexion
- Reducing fine wrinkles and expression lines
- Stimulating collagen production, improving skin elasticity
- Reducing enlarged pores and improving skin evenness
How does Frax Laser work?
Frax Laser works through controlled pulses of light that penetrate the skin and target cells containing melanin and hemoglobin. This action helps eliminate age spots and reduce diffuse redness. In addition, the light stimulates the production of collagen and elastin—essential components for a healthy skin.
This treatment is ideal for rejuvenating areas such as the face, neck, cleavage, and hands.
Who is Frax Laser facial rejuvenation for?
Frax Laser photo rejuvenation is ideal for those looking to improve skin texture, luminosity, and firmness. It is especially suitable for people with:
- Diffuse redness or rosacea
- Hyperpigmentation or sun spots
- Fine wrinkles and expression lines
- Enlarged pores and rough skin
- Loss of skin elasticity and firmness
What can you do before and after Frax Laser treatment?
A few weeks before treatment, it is best to avoid excessive sun exposure and to arrive with clean, well-hydrated skin.
In any case, the skin is cleansed at the clinic before treatment, and a topical anaesthetic gel is applied to the area to be treated. After 20–30 minutes, the gel is removed, the skin is cleaned again, and the treatment is performed.
After the session, a soothing gel is applied. If a stronger regenerative effect is desired, the treatment can be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. In that case, after the Frax LASER, the PRP is applied first through massage and/or superficial injections, after which the soothing gel will be applied.
To prevent sun damage after Frax Laser treatment, avoid direct sun exposure for at least one to two weeks and use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50+) daily.
The Frax Laser treatment process
During the Frax Laser session, the laser settings are adjusted according to your skin’s specific needs. The treatment is quick and comfortable and generally requires only topical anaesthesia. The skin may appear red afterwards, but this effect usually subsides quickly.
Frax Laser results
Results may be visible from the first session, with skin appearing more luminous, firm, and smooth. For optimal and long-lasting results, 2 to 4 sessions are recommended, spaced one month apart. To maintain the effects at their best, a maintenance session every 6–12 months is advised.
In dr. van der Veen´s practice the Frax laser is also used to improve scar appearance if necessary.
